Conversation 16 : Talking About Farmings

(PART 1)

Mr Sork  : Now the rainy season comes. Have you prepared your farming equipment yet?  

Mr Souv : Yes, I have, and you?

Mr Sork  : It’s ok, but I do lack of rice seed this year.

Mr Souv : Why’s that, my friend?

Mr Sork  : Because I have paid more rice to solve our living conditions. Do you have any rice seed left?

Mr Souv : Yes, I do.

Mr Sork  : May I borrow you some?

Mr Souv : Oh, don’t mention that. I’ll give you enough seed you need, my dear.

Mr Sork  : Thank you, it is very kind of you to help me.

Mr Souv : You’re welcome, we are good friends. How many kilos do you want?

Mr Sork  : About 60 kg.

Mr Souv : Ok, I’ll give you 100 kg for fear that isn’t adequate.

Mr Sork  : Thanks, again. When are you going to plow your rice paddy?

Mr Souv : I think I’ll do from tomorrow morning, and you?

Mr Sork  : The same to you. Where will you start plowing first?

Mr Souv : From the field with a few palm trees on it.

Mr Sork  : Oh, it’s near mine, so we’ll go together.

Mr Souv : Ok, with pleasure.

(PAART 2)

Mr Sork    : At what time will we start to go to the farm?

Mr Souv   : At about 3 am to have enough time to cook.

Mr Sork    : That’s right. But I don’t have dish to eat at the farm at all.

Mr Souv   : Don’t worry, tomorrow you can eat with me.

Mr Sork    :  Thanks, you are really so nice to me that I feel ashamed. By the way, where is your wife?

Mr Souv   : She has gone to visit her parents for a few days.

Mr Sork    : When will she come back?

Mr Souv   : Tomorrow afternoon, she told me.

Mr Sork    : Then, she doesn’t know……er…..

Mr Souv   : Don’t say like this, my wife is a very good one and kind.

Mr Sork    : But tomorrow I must come back to thank her too.

Mr Souv   : Up to you. Is the size of your land the same as your last year?

Mr Sork    : No, it is smaller.

Mr Souv   : Why is that?

Mr Sork    : I sold some because my wife had a baby. Oh it time for me to bring my oxen back, goodbye

Mr Souv   : Don’t forget to get up early.
